N-Scale  DCC Decoder recommendation by Locomotive type.
This list contains many old and new N-Scale locomotive DCC conversion recommendations for you locomotives. The list reads from left to right, your locomotive make & type. A drop-down menu is displayed for each locomotive type, when you select the down arrow a listing of suitable decoders is displayed, simply select a decoder and you will get a full description of the decoder and can add it to your shopping cart at that time. 

DigiFrame Kits: The second column displays a DigiFrame Kit  that is recommended or if it is a Plug & Play type decoder instillation..  

Orange and Gray columns represent where the decoder Orange and Gray wires are to be soldered if a hard wired decoder is used. This will ensure the throttle display will indicate the correct direction while in operation. 

Conversion: Southern Digital has been converting N-Scale locomotives for over 20 years. We will convert you existing locomotive to DCC, this price includes all parts, labor, front and rear lamp hook-up, testing and lubrication.  Function 1 - 6 hook-up to such things as "Ditch Lights", "Beacon" are extra.  This price does NOT include shipping and insurance. All conversion are with the least cost Digitrax decoders unless otherwise specified, prices will be adjusted accordingly.

Soundtraxx sound decoder, if room is available.  For Diesel locomotives it is best to install the sound decoder in a dummy locomotive that has adequate power truck pick-ups.  Most Steam locomotives have adequate room in the tender to house the sound decoder as well as a small oval speaker.
