All of the Decoders produced by Digitrax enable you to have constant brightness
head lights that can be turned on and off via your hand held controller. Both lights are
directional, this means only one light is on at a time depending on the direction the
locomotive is moving.
Most Digitrax Decoder are equipped with additional function. These
additional function can be used to control another device that are attached to the
Locomotive. These could be as simple as an additional lamp or as complex as an onboard
sound system .
The FX Decoders enable you to program up to 9 different lighting effects. One of
these effect is the Marz light displayed here.
All Digitrax Decoders support 14, 28 and 128 speed steps. What this means to you
is if your Command Station/Booster only supports 14 speed steps you can use the Digitrax
Decoders. If you decide at a later date to upgrade to a system that supports 128 speed
steps your decoders are ready for you. All Digitrax Starter Sets support 14, 28
and 128 speed steps.
All Digitrax Decoders "Mode Convert", this means that you are not
limited to operating your locomotives only on a Digital Command Control System like
Digitrax. Your decoders will convert to traditional Direct Current (D.C.) mode, so you can
run your locomotive on a club or friends layout that doesn't have Digitrax. (This
feature is not available for systems in Europe)
