| Soundtraxx SIERRA is compatible with all types of control systems,
so whether you are using radio control or a conventional power pack, you can have the very
best sound - at a fraction of the cost of other systems! |
| Sierra’s built-in intelligence allows the sounds to be
controlled three different ways to suit the type of control system you are using. If you
are using a conventional power pack to run your trains, then Sierra can be set to activate
sound effects in response to simple changes in track voltage. For example, as you turn up
your throttle, Sierra will first issue two short whistle toots to signal for forward (or
three toots for reverse). As the engine starts to move, the bell will turn on. Increasing
the speed further will turn the bell off, and accelerating the engine will produce a grade
crossing signal. Bring the engine to a stop and you’ll hear the cylinder blow down
and a stop whistle signal. |

| Maybe you’d rather use sensors to trigger the sounds. No
problem. Sierra has the capability to activate up to four sound effects at predetermined
locations, using reed switches strategically placed under the locomotive. Whenever the
locomotive passes over a magnet hidden in the roadbed, the desired sound effect will then
turn on. |
| If you are using Radio Control or DCC, Sierra has four inputs that
can be easily wired to the auxiliary outputs of your radio receiver or DCC decoder. Now
you can control Sierra’s sounds directly from your hand held transmitter!
